Robyn Ramsell Counselling & Coaching

About Me

Creating a safe, compassionate space where healing begins and hope is restored.

Robyn Ramsell - Therapeutic Counsellor and Coach

Who I Am

I'm Robyn Ramsell, a qualified person-centred therapeutic counsellor, trauma-informed practitioner and coach with over a decade of experience across charity, education and criminal-justice settings. I've supported children, young people and adults facing grief, trauma, chronic illness and complex life transitions. My approach is calm, empathetic and grounded, meeting you exactly where you are without judgement.

As someone with dyslexia, I bring a creative and intuitive perspective to my work, helping you explore your challenges from new angles.

How I Work

  • Person-centred: you lead the session; I walk alongside you
  • Trauma-informed: safety, choice and pace are paramount
  • Strength-based: we recognise your resilience and build on it
  • Restorative and relational: I help you rebuild trust in yourself and others

Who I Support

Adults

I work with adults experiencing trauma, bereavement, anticipatory grief, domestic abuse, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, life transitions, illness, and the emotional aftermath of crime.

Children & Young People (Ages 11+)

I support young people navigating grief, trauma, family change, school transitions, anxiety, and low mood.

All work follows NSPCC safeguarding guidelines and the BACP Ethical Framework for Children and Young People.

My Ethos

I believe in the strength and wisdom each person holds within. Sometimes we just need the right support to rediscover it.

We cannot remove trauma or loss from life, but we can learn strategies to live beyond them.

Together, we can work toward renewed purpose, balance, and hope.

My Approach

Person Centred

I provide person-centred counselling, creating a non-judgmental, accepting environment where you can explore your thoughts and feelings openly and safely.

Trauma-Informed

I understand how trauma affects the mind and body and work at your pace, respecting your boundaries while supporting your healing.

Solution-Focused

While honouring your past experiences, we focus on building strengths, developing coping strategies, and creating positive change to help you move forward with confidence and resilience.

A Personal Tribute

In 2020, someone I deeply cared for tragically passed away. His kindness and friendship left a lasting impact on many. Supporting others in crisis has always been something I felt called to do. After speaking with his mum, I wanted to honour his memory and the impact he had on others. No matter how overwhelming life feels, there is always hope and a way forward.

This is for you, GT.

My Background

I have over 15 years' experience supporting people through trauma, grief, and significant life events across the criminal justice and charity sectors.

Much of my work has involved sitting alongside people affected by experiences such as domestic abuse, sexual violence, sudden and traumatic death, suicide, and terminal illness. I have also supported those navigating bereavement, including anticipated loss and the death of someone important to them.

I have worked with children, young people, and adults who have been living with the impact of trauma and grief, including those accessing specialist support services.

I have additional training in pre-trial therapy, informed by extensive experience within the criminal justice sector.

Across all of these roles, I have learned how differently people experience and carry what has happened to them. For many, these experiences continue to shape how they feel, relate, and move through the world.

These experiences continue to inform my practice today and underpin my commitment to offering a safe, steady, and compassionate space where you can move at your own pace, without pressure or judgement. Alongside my professional experience, I also bring lived experience that informs my understanding of trauma, grief, and loss.
